Homeopathic Catarrh Remedies

Catarrh is an inflammation of a mucous membrane with increased flow of mucus or exudate.

Agaricus mus. (Thrice a day): Catarrh of the chest. It is accompanied by sneezing and cough.

Corallium rub. (Thrice a day): Post-nasal catarrh. Profuse secretion of mucus dropping through the posterior nares.

Elaps cor. 6 (Thrice a day): Most effective remedy for chronic nasal and pharyngeal catarrh with greenish discharge.

Hydrastis (Thrice a day): Constant dropping of yellow mucus from the posterior nares. Catarrh of the nose. Periostitis of the nasal bones.

Kalium bich. (Thrice a day): Discharge of stingy, tough and green mucus due to catarrh of the nose.

Kalium mur. 6x (Four times a day): It is a valuable remedy for deafness following catarrh and discharges from the ear.

Lycopodium (Thrice a day): Catarrh of throat creating difficulties in swallowing which is generally painful. Catarrh of chest in infants with rattling of mucus.

Lycopodium (Thrice a day), Ammonium carb. (Thrice a day), Hepar Sulphuris (Thrice a day): Nose completely stopped due to catarrh of nasal membranes. Has to breathe through the mouth.

Medorrhinum 1M (One dose only) Repeat after a month: Chronic nasal catarrh of children. Nose is always dirty with thick yellow mucus. Tonsils are enlarged and the child can breathe through the mouth only.

Mentholum (Twice a day): It has proved to be a curative in acute nasal catarrh and in acute eustachian tube catarrh.

Phosphorus (Twice a day): Blowing of nose is accompanied with drops of blood. Handkerchief is always bloody.

Pulsatilla nig. (Thrice a day): Discharge of yellow mucus. Crusts and pain at the root of the nose.

Spigelia (Thrice a day): Chronic catarrh of the nose with post-nasal dropping of bland mucus.

Sulphur (One dose daily): Chronic catarrhs with a red nose.

Teucrium mar. (Thrice a day): It is the best remedy for nasal catarrh and atrophy. Offensive crusts and clinkers. Ozena. Loss of sense of smell.
