Acidum phos. 1c (Thrice a day): Crushing headache with pressure on the head. Dull headache after coition or from eyestrain.

Agaricus mus. (Thrice a day): Dull headache due to prolonged desk work. Vertigo when looking at passing cars. Headache as if from a nail. Headache with epistaxis. Desire to cover the head.

Ambra grisea (Thrice a day): Senile headache with depression. Tearing pain in the upper half of the brain.

Antimonium crud. (Thrice a day): Headache from river bathing, cold, alcoholism and eating pickles or acidic things.

Argentum nit. (Thrice a day): It is useful in dull chronic headaches of literary people and businessmen.

Baryta mur. (Thrice a day): Headaches of old people but without any acute crisis – heaviness rather than pain. Headache due to hypertension.

Belladonna (Thrice a day): Severe jerking headache extending from eyes to the nape of the neck, worse light, noise, jar, lying down and in the afternoon. Throbbing and burning headache from suppressed catarrhs or colds. Headache after having a haircut.

Beilis per. (Thrice a day): Headache from the occiput to the nape of the head. Forehead feels contracted, bruised and sore.

Bryonia alba (Thrice a day): Bursting, splitting headache as if everything would be pressed out, as if hit by a hammer from within. Frontal headache. Worse on any movement and on coughing.

Calcarea carb. (Thrice a day): Headache before menses. Sense of weight on top of the head. Headache from over lifting and from mental exertion with nausea. Head feels heavy and hot with a pale face.

Calcarea phos. 6x (Thrice a day): Anemic girls suffer from headache after studies or after school hours and from eyestrains. Headache due to abdominal flatulence or change of weather.

Carbolicum acidum (Thrice a day): Headache with a sensation as if the head is compressed by a rubber band.

Carbo veg. (Thrice a day): Headache from any indulgence.

China off. (Thrice a day): Headache alternating with pain in the abdomen and relieved by stooping. Headache due to strain of eyes. Headache with a feeling as if the head will burst and that the brain was moving to and fro. Throbbing in the head and temples. Pain worse in open air, contact or strong wind. Vertigo when walking. Better by hard pressure and warmth. Periodicity is marked.

Chionanthus Q (Thrice a day): It cures many types of headaches, neurasthenic, periodical, sick, menstrual and bilious. 5 drops a dose, thrice daily breaks up the sick headache habit.

Cimicifuga (Thrice a day): Headache from worry, mental strain, over study or loss of sleep.

Cocculus ind. (Thrice a day): Headache in the occiput and nape. Sick headache from carriage riding. Headache on reading, writing, watching a film, talking, noises and worries. Sensation of opening and shutting of occiput.

Crotalus hor. (Thrice a day): Dull heavy occipital pain on the right side and right eye. Pain in the heart on lying on the left side. Must walk on tip toe to avoid pain by jarring.

Cyclamen (Thrice a day): One-sided headache with frequent sneezing.

Gelsemium (Thrice a day): Dull tired headache at the base of the brain. The patient desires to lie with the head raised upon a high pillow and be perfectly still. Headache from mental labour, smoking tobacco and the heat of the sun. Better by pressure. Sensation that the head is compressed by a rubber band. Headache after debauch.

Glonoinum (Thrice a day): Congestive headache during menopause or due to suppressed menses. Headache due to sun stroke. Severe throbbing headache due to high blood pressure. Headache increases or decreases with the sun. Headache in place of menses.

Graphites (One dose daily): Headache on one side of the head extending to teeth and nose. Usually in the morning on rising.

Ignatia amara 200 (One dose daily): Headache from exertion of mind like listening to a lecture from a teacher or close attention to an orator.

Ipecacuanha (Thrice a day): Headache with nausea.

Juglans regia (Thrice a day): Pain at the base of the head. Pain sharp.

Kalium bich. (Thrice a day): Pains in the head in small spots due to suppressed catarrh. Frontal pain usually on one eye.

Lachesis (Thrice a day): Headache during menopause due to non-appearance of blood at the proper time and better when the flow appears. Headache due to heat of the sun.

Lobelia purp. (Thrice a day): Headache between the eyebrows with dizziness and drowsiness. Cannot keep eyes open.

Lupulus (Thrice a day): Headache due to eyestrain or sex and a night’s debauch. Dull headache with dizziness.

Lycopodium (Twice a day): Throbbing headache after every paroxysm of cough. Tearing pain in the occiput, better in fresh air. Pain in the temples.

Natrium carb. (Thrice a day): Headache from slightest mental exertion – worse during change of weather and by working under a gas light or sun.

Natrium mur. (Thrice a day): Throbbing, blinding headache comes periodically. Headache as if hammers were knocking on the brain. Worse in the morning on awakening. Anemic headache of school girls. Chronic headache from sunrise to sunset with a pale face. Headache from eyestrain and during menstruation. Headache which comes at 10 or 11 a.m. Pain like a rope tied around the head draw which is being drawn tighter and tighter.

Natrium sulph. (Thrice a day): Headache worse during menses. Headache in people dwelling in basements and wet houses.

Nux vomica (Twice a day): Headache in occiput or over the eyes with vertigo. Brain feels as if going round in a circle. Headache in the sunshine. Headache after debauch. Frontal headache with a desire to press the head against something.

Onosmodium (Thrice a day): Headaches from eyestrain and sexual weaknesses. Head appears confused, heavy and dizzy after sexual intercourse.

Paullinia sorb. (Twice a day) (Guarana): Sick headaches in persons who have used tea and coffee in excess. Throbbing headache after use of alcohol.

Picricum acidum (Thrice a day): Slightest exertion or mental efforts brings on headache. This headache is often found in students, over worked businessmen and people depressed by grief or other emotions.

Platinum met. (Twice a day): Headache in women with numbness. Pain increases and decreases gradually. Tense, pressing pain in a small spot.

Psorinum (Twice a day): Periodical headaches with putrid stools. Chronic headache, hungry during the attack with vertigo, worse during change of weather. Awakens at night with a feeling of pain, as if from a blow.

Pulsatilla nig. (Thrice a day): Wandering pains in the head. Pain extends to face and teeth. Better open air. Headache from over work.

Sanguinaria (Thrice a day): Headache during menopause. Chronic headache. Periodical sick headache. Pain begins in occiput, spreads upwards and settles over the right eye. Headache every seventh day, worse right side during menopause.

Selenium met. (Thrice a day): Headache from drinking tea.

Sepia (Thrice a day): Terrible headache due to suppression of menses or due to scanty flow during menses or on account of constipation. Half sided headaches.

Silicea (Thrice a day): Headache due to fasting. Pain begins in the occiput and settles over the eyes. Better by wrapping the head and worse in the morning. Profuse sweat on the head.

Spigelia (Thrice a day): Pain beneath frontal eminence and temples extending to the eyes. Pain as if a band is around the head. Headache starts from the nape of the neck and extends to the left eye. This is used in many types of headaches.

Spongia (Thrice a day): Bursting headache due to the rush of blood to the head, worse forehead.

Succinum 3x (Thrice a day): Headache every seven days.

Taraxacum 3c (Thrice a day): Sensation of great heat on top of the head. Scalp is painful to touch. Gastric headaches and headaches in anemic persons with flatulence.

Thea sin. (Thrice a day): Sick headache due to excessive tea drinking is cured by this remedy.

Tilia eur. (Thrice a day): Neuralgic headache starting on the right side and shifting to the left side with sensation of a gauze or veil before the eyes.

Tuberculinum 1M (One dose only): Headache is so severe that the patient bangs the head against a door. Intense neuralgia as if an iron hand was around the head. Symptoms remain on changing.

Viola odorata Q (Thrice a day): Tendency to pain immediately above the eyebrows. Headache across forehead due to uterine fibroids.

NOTE: Although the brain receives the pain messages from the body but it has no pain nerves of its own. Headaches do not indicate any brain problem. Such pains originate from the muscles and blood vessels of the head.
