Homeopathic Medicine for Itching

Acidum sulph. (Thrice a day): Very useful in removing the tendency to terrible itching.

Agaricus mus. (Thrice a day): Itching without eruptions, changing place, sometimes here and sometimes there.

Aloe soc. (Thrice a day): There is a great burning and itching in the anus and around it. The patient bores his finger in the anus and rotates it to calm the itching. Such people are inclined to anal intercourse.

Ambra grisea (Thrice a day): Great itching of female organs and labia during menses. Itching is so great that sometimes virgin girls have to bore fingers inside the vagina and thus they rupture the hymen.

Anagallis (Thrice a day): Itching and tingling everywhere. Itching of the palms. Skin is dry with bran-like eruptions specially on hands, fingers and palms.

Antimonium crud. (Thrice a day): Measles-like eruptions. Skin dry and burning. Itching is worse at night in bed.

Arum triph. (Thrice a day): There is constant picking at the nose. It is so severe that the patient may scratch it to the point of bleeding.

Belladonna (Thrice a day): Itching with eruptions like scarlatina. Burning and redness of the skin.

Croton tig. (Thrice a day): Itching around eyes, genitals, penis and scrotum.

Dolichos 6 (Thrice a day): Itching without eruptions. Diabetic itching. Itching is worse on the hairy parts, across the shoulders and about the elbows and knees.

Gelsemium (Thrice a day): Itching. Measles-like eruptions. Skin is hot and dry.

Granatum (Thrice a day): Itching of palms.

Hepar Sulphuris (Thrice a day), Mercurius sol. (Thrice a day): Pimple-like eruptions on the skin, itching violently. Scratching causes ulcers.

Hydrastis (Thrice a day): Eczema with eruptions like small-pox, discharging a yellow fluid on scratching.

Juglans regia (Thrice a day): Itching and eruptions of small red pustules. Itching more violent at night.

Kalium ars. (Thrice a day): Intolerable itching, worse while undressing. Dry scaly acne. Itching worse from warmth, walking and undressing.

Medorrhinum 200 (One dose only) Repeat after 1 week: Intense and constant itching worse at night and when thinking of it.

Mercurius sol. (Thrice a day): Itching worse from warmth of the bed at night. Vesicular and pustular eruptions. Skin is always moist.

Natrium sulph. (Thrice a day): Itching while undressing. Wart-like red lumps all over the body.

Petroleum (Thrice a day): Itching worse in winters. Itching at night. Skin dry. Slightest scratch makes the skin suppurate. Burning.

Psorinum (Thrice a day): Skin has a dirty and clingy look. Intolerable itching. Itch worse on scalp and bends of joints and by the warmth of bed. Skin is oily. Itching returns every winter. Scratches until skin bleeds. Itching between fingers.

Ranunculus bulb. (Thrice a day): Burning, itching vesicles of bluish color. Barber’s itch.

Rhus tox. (Thrice a day): Red, swollen skin with intense itching. Burning. Barber’s itch. Urticaria-like itching.

Rumex crispus (Thrice a day): Intense itching of the skin specially of the lower extremities, worse on exposure to cold air and when undressing.

Selenium met. (Thrice a day): Itching of the palms. Dry scaly eruptions on palms. Itching about the ankles and folds of the skin, between the fingers. Skin oily. Itching of the ear.

Sepia: Itching worse in bends of knees and elbow, not relieved by scratching.

Sulphur (Twice a day): Itching causes burning. Skin is dry and unhealthy. Itching worse from washing. Itching worse in the folds of skin, from warmth of the bed. In the evening and often recur in spring time and in damp weather. Pruritus.

Sulphur iod. 3x (Thrice a day): Obstinate skin affection, Barber’s itch and acne. Itching on the ears, nose and urethra. Papular eruptions on the face.

Syphilinum 200 (One dose only) Repeat after 1 week: Itching worse at night. Hot bath relieves.

Thuja occ. (Thrice a day): Itching and eruptions on the covered parts only. Worse after scratching and very sensitive to touch.

Thyreoidinum (One dose daily): Skin dry. Itching without eruptions and worse during the night.

Valeriana Q: Its use reduces sleeplessness on account of nocturnal itching.

NOTE: Itch is a tortured process that scars the skin, destroys sleep and sometimes causes a person to commit suicide. It also gives pleasure on scratching. Scientists paid no attention to itching, scratching and pleasure because they thought it is not a dire medical problem. Scientists have now discovered that mosquito bites and allergic skin reactions are caused by histamine which is released by the body as an anti to the bites and allergies (see illustration).
