Homeopathic Medicine for Sprains

Aconitum nap. (Four times a day): If the sprain in the neck has been caused by exposure to a cold wind, a few doses will remove the trouble if used within 24 hours of the neck pain.

Agnus castus 6c (Thrice a day): Another general but a good remedy for sprains and stretching of muscles.

Arnica mont. 30 (Four times a day): It is the first remedy to be used on occurring of sprains.

Belladonna 200 (Thrice a day): Three doses of it in a day will remove the pain and sprain after failure of Aconitum nap.

Beilis per. (Thrice a day): It is an excellent remedy for sprains in conditions when the sprain has been removed but the pain remains. It combines the properties of Arnica and Hypericum.

Bovista (Thrice a day): It is a good remedy for swelling of the foot after sprains.

Calcarea carb. (Thrice a day), Natrium carb. (Thrice a day), Petroleum (Thrice a day): These are useful in old sprains according to the totality of symptoms.

Dulcamara 200 (One dose daily): A dose a day for sprain of the neck, when days are hot but nights are cold.

Lachnantes tinc. (Thrice a day): It removes stiffness on account of the sprain in the neck.

Rhus tox. 200 (Four times a day): Sprain in the neck. Give four doses in a day. It will relieve the patient from the neck pain.

Ruta (Four times a day): Immediately on the occurrence of a sprain, bathe the part with ice water in which a few drops of Ruta have been added. This treatment, if applied right away generally cures and does away the need to use any other medicine. It may also be used for formation of nodules after sprains. When the swelling subsides, alternate hot and cold treatment should be given.
